Oxford University Press has a playful project called Save the Words where you can adopt a rarely used word. The interface presents the words to be adopted as if photographs of words in different contexts. Check it out!
Lexigraphi.ca passes 6K images and 7K words

The Dictionary of Words in the Wild has passed the 6000 images threshold and now has more than 7000 unique words. This is largely due to Willard McCarty who has been posting words from Australia.

Willard McCarty gave a series of 5 lectures at the University of Alberta. In his first lecture, "A Pisgah-Sight of Readers and Texts," he discussed the Dictionary of Words in the Wild as a promising model for literary computing. Using images from the Dictionary he ended with a slide of Sorry it took so long.
